Director of Palliative Care Operations
Scott Lofland, MBA, is an Air Force veteran with extensive experience in logistics. During his 14 years in the military, he managed operations and evaluated processes for challenged departments, addressing and correcting issues with accounting, quality assurance, and overall deployment readiness.
As a result of these efforts, he touts the benefits of good leadership and believes that staff development is critical to exceptional care and service.
Scott has been with Life Transitions since 2013 and has also contributed his time and skills to finance and project management.
In addition to an MBA, Scott holds a graduate-level certificate in Health Services Management.
John Morris, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. John Morris, FAAHPM, is passionate about the benefits of palliative care for patients, families, and clinicians. Since 2003, he has been instrumental in developing palliative programs in hospitals and communities in North and South Carolina. He also teaches experiential courses advocating excellence in palliative care to national audiences.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. Morris completed his internal medicine residency and pulmonary medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University. He is Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Morris also earned a Master’s degree in leadership from the Thayer Institute.
Vice President of Palliative Care Operations
Christopher Morrissette has extensive operational experience within hospice, homecare and senior living. He most recently worked as an Executive Director for Brookdale Senior Living. Christopher’s hospice career began at St. Croix Hospice in Oakdale, MN where he served as a part of the executive team that expanded the continuum of care from a single location into a 3-state area in the upper Mid-West.
Christopher built strategic partnerships within the regional market and lead the growth in census from 30 to 350 patients within two years; laying the foundation for St. Croix Hospice’s current average daily census of over 900 patients.
In 2010-2012 Christopher served as a volunteer board member and President of the St. Paul Senior Workers Association a non-profit, networking organization with over 300 members. Christopher co-chaired the 2011 Minneapolis/St. Paul Senior Workers annual conference with over 500 attendees, hosting Teepa Snow as the keynote speaker.
In 2012, Christopher served as a board member and Conference Chair for the Minnesota Gerontological Society. In addition, Christopher served as a member for the Care Partners of Minnesota Housing and Community Based Services Committee, speaking at Care Partner’s 2012 annual conference on “keeping residents home through hospice and palliative care.”
Christopher is studied leadership and Biblical studies, obtaining a degree in Ministry from Northwestern University, St. Paul. He has spent his career studying leadership and is finishing a MBA in Healthcare Administration from Colorado Christian University. Christopher is passionate about healthcare and believes that hospice and palliative care is his true calling.
Christopher and his wife Alyssa have 3 children live in Hendersonville, NC. Christopher is an avid mountain biker and hiker who spends free time outdoors with his family. He is actively involved as a leader in his church where he volunteers and leads a small group.
